Blog Header Design (Unuane, 2024).

In the field of digital design, I embarked on a journey that taught me the value of uncovering my distinct creative voice. This realisation dawned upon me after attending the enlightening branding workshop with Cecilia Martin, a branding consultant with over 15 years experience in the field, where I grasped the profound truth that to truly shine in today's rapidly evolving technological landscape, one must have a deep understanding of their unique qualities. Establishing a memorable presence demands embracing and celebrating the very essence that sets you apart from the crowd.

Technology can often make our cultural traditions feel pushed aside. That got me wondering and asking myself the question how can I add cultural touches to digital design while keeping things easy for users? I love both technology and virtual worlds. So I'm driven to create online experiences that mix old and new in a way today's crowds enjoy. Technology moves fast, but cultural heritage is important too. We shouldn't let progress make us forget where we came from. Blending the two lets us appreciate age-old traditions through a modern lens. By fusing cultural motifs with user-friendly design, digital design can bridge the past and future. The metaverse is a prime place to interweave ancient symbols with cutting-edge visuals. With some creativity, we can infuse the digital realm with meaningful cultural elements. While still keeping interactions straightforward for all skill levels. That allows users to experience diverse heritages through an accessible virtual window.

Imagine, for example, the thrill of immersing yourself in a replica of a famous wonder of the universe. It’s not just about having an enjoyable experience, it’s about preserving the essence of cultures in danger of disappearing and making them appreciate our diverse heritage. The fusion of modern aesthetics with nostalgic elements from decades past, as seen on platforms like Twitch, is a testament to the power of blending traditional and innovative When forming your brand identity, it's important to understand your target audience. In my case, I have the Gen Z demographic in mind, which includes individuals born between 2000 and 2012. Having envisioned myself in the tech industry alongside giants like Microsoft, Google and Apple. My ambition is to blend technological advances with cultural nuances in a way that is not only striking but also remarkable in experiences.

Twitch new identity embraces nostalgic themes 1970s-1980s style reflected in colours and motion design incorporating elements in the likeness of arcade game movements (Collins, 2019).

I use 3D elements for a dynamic user experience. However, creating high-level images for spatial UX design is a challenge due to the lack of appropriate tools. However, I'm determined to explore unorthodox solutions. The Branding workshop led to a group project on developing a conceptual brand, Playback which needed to have a distinct story surrounding it. We discovered a problem of Gen Zs not being interested in things of the past. So we needed to define the brand as a storyteller who refines past experiences to appeal to modern audiences who are Gen Zs, This time in digital experiences that could immerse them in the nostalgic eras. We Established 3 core values which are Revive, Recall, and Refine the past. The central theme was Modern Nostalgia Personally, I sought to combine elements which Gen Zs resonate with. The key factor we noticed was the audience's preference for hot colours e.g magenta, cyan blue. Playback was derived from the idea of playing back tapes reminiscent of the early 2000s. Hence we just redefine the way and means old events are told this time we employ immersive technologies for physical and virtual events. I collaborated in creating a 3D environment featuring the seven wonders of the world using my digital design skills. The brand identity used hot colors and grainy textures to give an old print feel. The logo and icons were inspired by origami art.

The group work allowed me to bring my brand identity into view in a way that healthily respects other views while contributing to my quota of involvement. Kindly find the project work here
